Lead Engineer Structures Jobs

Participer à la mise en place de méthode de travail efficace pour la réalisation des projets;

Réaliser la modélisation / conception 3D de structures d’acier, de béton armé ou de bois;

Assurer une coordination entre les différentes disciplines œuvrant sur les projets;

Superviser et vérifier le travail de techniciens et dessinateurs en structure dans les projets;

Assurer la vérification et la production de devis et d’autres documents techniques;

Participer à l’estimation des livrables et échéancier pour la réalisation des projets et la préparation;

Manage and monitor execution of tasks to assigned scope, budget, schedule and requirements.

Accountable for designs and ensuring compliance to requirements.

Completed University degree, College Diploma or demonstrated exceptional abilities in relevant engineering discipline

Superior oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

Experience with NX Unigraphics or similar CAD software

Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space

Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including project management, quality assurance and supply chain teams;

Produce and certify repair specifications, including structural calculations and technical drawing packs, for submarine repair requirements;

Certification as a Professional Engineer or immediate eligibility to become a Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia;

Structural or marine engineering experience;

A comprehensive understanding of marine structures and their design or maintenance requirements;

Excellent written, verbal, electronic reporting and data communication skills;

Involvement in project management of structural engineering projects.

Planning, organizing, and working with technical groups in the delivery of project requirements.

Ensure projects are well managed and controlled, and meet required performance, safety and business standards.

Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering.

Experience with Alberta Transportation design standards and deliverables would be an asset.

Manages the conceptualization of modular mechanical design, promoting streamlined processes.

Working knowledge of Canadian, US California and International building code

Experience with structural design of static industrial installations and skid-based machinery

Experience with PTC Creo CAD platform is a bonus

Hands on experience of SAP 2000 and STAAD Pro is an asset.

Ability to read, interpret and decompose standards into requirements

Nice-To-Have Qualifications (in Order Of Preference)

Work with customers to solve their material challenges with ALUULA composite fabrics

Drive the effort to commercialize specific fabric solutions from conception to mass-production

Create and review certification data packages: drawings, installation manuals, Instruction for Continuing Airworthiness, test plans, test reports, qualification reports, etc.

Attend training courses as directed by the company to ensure knowledge and skills are current.

Work with Customers, Installers and Product Support Team to support the installation and certification of aeronautical products.

Manage engineering projects utilizing both internal and external resources ensuring successful project completion.

Eligible for certification under APEGA or ASET (i.e. P.Eng, P.L.Eng, or P.Tech).

Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, aviation/aerospace.

Support in the coordination and management of HDH electrical design packages

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Mentor and lead younger engineers in their technical development

Support the growth of the HDH engineering team by participating in recruitment and integration efforts

Contribute to HDH technical proposals with scope definition, specification development, design calculations while coordinating with other disciplines.

Support in the development of the HDH engineering team by building internal tools and processes.

Demonstrated capability to apply relevant knowledge and technical skills to monitor adherence to CP policies and standards as well regulatory requirements;

Must possess an Engineering Degree (Exception for non-university graduates provided sufficient experience and demonstrated performance in railroad engineering);

Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements;

Capability to develop and manage a project plan/schedule;

Ability to simultaneously manage priorities and ensure delivery of key performance metrics during emergency and non-emergency operations;

Ability to influence peers, cross functional co-managers and Executive leadership team;
