This is a 4-month coop term from September 2023 – December 2023 at our Ottawa office.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with new and innovative technologies to best understand their use and application for the business, primarily in construction field operations
• Responds to service requests regarding the installation of hardware and software for end user computing devices
• Updates customer with progress
• Working with construction (and other) software vendors to optimize support and functionality
• Actively engaging with and supporting construction foremen and other users in the field as they adopt new tools and processes, to understand their needs and monitor for continuous improvement opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Comfortable working in the office as well as in the field on construction sites
• A technical background, comfortable with operational technologies, and able to become a subject matter expert with specific software and hardware solutions
• Organized, autonomous and able to work with minimal oversight
• Working towards a degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study
• A strong communicator, able to build rapport and adapt training methods across a wide range of aptitudes

Desirable:

• Experience working with software vendors to optimize support and functionality would be considered an asset
• Experience with remote support (e.g., helpdesk/service desk, PC, desk side, phone) would be an asset
• Experience managing service tickets from call to resolution would be an asset
• Experience with desktop and server operating systems and back-end server support (e.g., setting up email accounts) would be an asset
• Experience in the construction industry would be considered an asset
