Job Description

York United is searching for an enthusiastic, outgoing and community-minded individual to join our front office. The ideal candidate will exemplify our values and mission, and always have a team-first attitude. Our goals are high, and we require someone who is able to meet these goals head-on. The Account Executive, Partnership Sales & Service will be primarily responsible for the prospecting, acquisition and management of Partner accounts. This will include outbound calls and emails; ongoing communication with Partners with updates on deliverables and liaising with club and league marketing and operations to ensure assets are being completed.


This role will be primarily in-office but may have flexibility to work remotely some of the time. Reliable transportation is required as meetings and activations will be around York Region and the GTA. This position is full time (40 hours per week) and will require match day attendance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and maximize networking opportunities with potential and existing sponsors and relevant marketing agencies
  • Prospect, target, pitch and secure partnerships for York United FC
  • Oversee the execution of any finalized partnership agreements
  • Develop, visualize and present customized partnership solutions for prospective sponsors
  • Support the York United FC ticketing department to drive ticket buyers through partners and potential sponsor prospects
  • Deliver impactful on-brand and on-target partnership programs for new business prospects
  • Understand the prospect's brand DNA and design sales presentations to reflect brand synergies and positioning
  • Facilitate ideation by leading cross-functional brainstorms to inform creative solutions

MEASUREMENTS OF SUCCESS

  • Creates and implements new partnership opportunities to drive incremental revenue
  • Achieve and surpass all department targets
  • Effectively service partnership accounts to drive partnership renewals and growth
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with current corporate partners and prospects

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE)

Job Specific Skills and Abilities

  • Communication (MUST be able to effectively communicate with clients, co-workers and other parties)
  • Previous sponsorship sales and/or service experience
  • Organization (must be highly organized and able to manage time, campaign deliveries, etc)
  • Interdependence (understand the responsibilities within the larger team)


Assets:


  • Post-Secondary Education in Sports Management, Business, Sales, or related field
  • Knowledge of the GTA business landscape
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in marketing, business, sports administration or other related disciplines an asset
  • Knowledge of soccer
  • Experience using CRM (i.e. Salesforce)
  • Experience in Project/Event Management (i.e. corporate events) and/or sports industry experience
  • Knowledge of York Region and its communities

Term:

  • Full time (40 hours per week)
  • Temporary (contract through the end of the 2023 soccer season but evaluated, with the possibility of extending or offering permanent employment)
  • Salary will be based on previous experience


OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:


  • Will be required to travel and work evenings and weekends when necessary
  • Will be required to have access to a vehicle at all times
