The Role

Reporting to the CFO, you will interact with all levels of company leadership. This role will lead efforts related to general and technical accounting, reporting, internal processes and controls, including billing, payroll, equity management, payables, taxation, financial systems, international expansion, audit and compliance, and other key accounting functions.

Our ideal leader has operated successfully at a global level and has a strong business acumen and a collaborative style. You will set the strategic direction and vision for the accounting team and will be responsible for professional development, and scaling of the function and its members.

Cool Things You’ll Do

General And Technical Accounting

• Manages the monthly and quarterly general ledger close processes.
• Ensures that Pantheon is in compliance with GAAP and oversees the development of technical accounting memos relating to Pantheon’s business activities.
• Ensures proper revenue recognition under ASC606, including reviewing sales agreements, purchase orders, and other related sales documents.

Reporting

• Reviews monthly and quarterly financial statements, including analysis of monthly trends and flux analysis.
• Ensures the integrity and accuracy of information provided to the external auditors in relation to the annual audit and quarterly reviews.

Internal Processes And Controls

• Develops, maintains and ensures ongoing compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Coordinates the preparation of schedules requested by external tax advisors for corporate income tax returns and tax provision calculations. Reviews tax provision calculations and disclosures for completeness and accuracy.
• Leads all finance and accounting activities related to international expansion
• Manages other finance-related activities, including oversight of accounts payable, payroll, and oversight of equity plan administration.

Executive, Cross-functional Leadership

• Provides finance and accounting input as requested during negotiations of complex and long-term agreements
• Manage external relationships with auditors, legal firms, banks, insurance brokers, Board of Directors Audit Committee, customers and vendors
• Collaborates with Finance, Operations, and Sales leadership on setting the technology roadmap for the Finance function in respect to key initiatives, interoperability, and highest and best use of resources
• Provides cross-functional support to the Company as needs arise, including special projects, system improvements or ad-hoc financial or tax-related analyses
• Develops a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, training and success in the accounting organization.

What You Bring To The Table

• CPA with Big 4 experience preferred.
• Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships, gain input and consensus from key stakeholders.
• Proven ability to motivate and organize teams behind shared goals and objectives
• Proven ability to leverage technology and drive interoperability of best-in-class systems
• Ability to eloquently distill and communicate complex topics broadly to the leadership team, front-line team members, and everyone in between.
• 15+ years in both external audit and in-house financial management roles
• Self-starter mentality with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, lean environment while not losing sight of the broader vision and opportunity
• Process and detail orientation; strong quantitative skills and superior accounting skills
