About the Role:
The primary role of the Sr. Principal Engineer—Aseptic Processes is to be recognized as a leader, demonstrating, and enhancing Subject Matter Expert Skill Set(s) to technical peers within technical situations related to Aseptic Process including Operation & Production of Process Systems along with CIP Systems. Recognized within the organization as a Thought and Servant Leader, the Sr. Principal Engineer—Aseptic Processes will initiate technical leadership to identify and develop key strategies, programs or projects that delivers the highest value business benefit to the company. Ability to lead plant teams within the Aseptic Platform, serve as SME in M&A activity as well as strong communication with cross functional teams is a fundamental skill set for this position. Support automation hardware, as well as associated software platforms. Must be familiar with Allen Bradley PLC programming. Their main responsibilities include:
- Keeps current and mentors to latest industry regulations and codes relative to equipment system design / operation / food safety.
- Write detailed functional control descriptions for the unit operations and processing systems recommended by the Engineer.
- Technology assessment and recommended solutions
- Equipment / System Performance criteria
- Leads/Co Leads Performance Start Up protocols - FATs, SATs & CQVs
- Preliminary Capital / Expense Estimates
- Research and recommend replacements, repairs, or retrofits of Aseptic Processes to further enhance performance or prepare organization for emerging technologies.
- Provides in depth review of technical and economic feasibility analysis to other groups within THS that are focused on improvements and growth to the current state that deliver competitive advantages.
- Work with the Engineering Project Team to determine a design schedule that meets that overall project schedule requirements.
- Lead rolls out of key strategies / programs / growth opportunities across the enterprise (includes development and roll out of new)
- Identification of Alternatives, Pre-requisites, Risks, and Opportunities
- Physical location and general arrangement placements (drawing level)
- Active member of EHS, HAACP, Food Safety, Process Design Teams
- Support/Improve OEE improvement through Continuous Improvement Principles, of existing Aseptic Process, verification of PID’s and effectiveness of CIP Systems bringing forward improvements opportunities, operations training and maintenance training enhancing current processes.
Important Details: This is a full-time position with expected 50% travel to multiple plants in Cambridge, MD, Dixon, IL, and Richmond Hill, ON.
About You:
You’ll fit right in if you have:
- 12 plus years in Food Manufacturing within Aseptic Processes
- Expected 50% travel.
- Past or proven knowledge of Retort Processing
- Past or proven knowledge of Batching and CIP Systems
- Continuous Improvement mindset, to challenge current processes both internally and externally with ability to bring adaptable solutions forward.
- Proven thought and servant leadership qualities, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as technical analysis and problem-solving skills are required.
- Past or proven knowledge of Tetra Pak Aseptic Carton Fillers
- Pro-active in team participation which includes partnering with cross-functional Business Teams to drive improved performance, cost, or quality.
- BS Degree in Engineering
