Principal Project Engineer
A Principal Project Engineer is required to lead and manage cross-functional teams in the design, development, and implementation of aircraft ECS (Environmental Control System) electronic products on both commercial and military aircraft platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing team efforts to achieve development schedule and performance goals within allocated cost and is required to provide technical authority for the assigned program(s). Assignments will range from management of large development projects, oversight of multiple development projects and product lines, or providing support to the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Engineering Support organization and Customer Support team.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the product definition process from requirements definition through design, development, validation & verification, and introduction to production
• Mentoring of other project engineers engaged on development projects
• The leadership of customer design reviews, technical co-ordination meetings, and engineering reviews with support from appropriate functional groups as required
• Support change management including scope, schedule, cost, technical, resource, and risk assessment as well as program change requests
• Management of the program plan including scope, schedule, cost, technical, resource, and risk management
• Focal point with all internal departments and customer interface
• Program tracking and reporting using Project scheduling, reporting, and financial management tools as appropriate
• Project engineering process improvement as well as supporting efforts to ensure process adherence within the project engineering team
• Overall technical coordination of design and development activities within the engineering functions to ensure that all customer requirements are addressed
• Support proposal preparation for the growth of the ECS Controls Product group
• Establish and maintain detailed technical plans, estimates, and schedules

YOU MUST HAVE

• Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in an aerospace/defense/development environment and leading multidisciplinary teams
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science
• Minimum of 5 years project engineering experience including project planning, change management, earned value reporting, and experience with computer-based scheduling and reporting tools
• Minimum of 5 years of Electronic Control Product development experience from design through production in a software and systems environment
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics and controls technologies, specifications & component characteristics
