Principal Front End Software Engineer – UI Platform

You need to be a self-starter willing to take on a large existing test suite and ready to work within complex test environments with many touch points. A positive attitude and willingness to learn and share are essential.

Responsibilities

• Build world-class user experiences.
• Brainstorm, design and develop new ways to visualize and present complex information to users.
• Take full ownership of projects from design to implementation and deployment.
• Work with other UI engineers and UX to build out a suite of loosely-coupled reusable components.
• Act as a role model and mentor to other engineers, proactively acting to unblock others and fostering a culture of learning and growth
• Tackle design and product problems.
• Work closely with Product Management, UX designers, and the larger engineering team to deliver quality user interfaces.

Experience

• Proven track record of leading a project the design phase through delivery
• Experience maintaining modern web tooling at an enterprise scale with a deep understanding of how they work – Jest, Webpack, Linting, Transpiling
• Experience mentoring other developers
• A sense of urgency and ownership over the product
• A love for making things beautiful and a strong understanding of usability and visual design.
• Experience maintaining enterprise npm projects, including private packages, managing dependency upgrades and package audits
• 10+ years of UI Engineering experience
• Creating configuration, build, and test scripts for Continuous Integration environment
• Focus on quality, details, and meeting user needs
• Creating custom, general use modules and components
• Deep knowledge of web frameworks, such as, Angular, React, or VueJS
