Purpose

Looking for Senior Civil engineer remotely or at Markham area will be an asset. Works independently at an advanced level completing a wide variety of assignments through the application of advanced engineering theories and able to do regular visits to client sites, techniques, and practices. Has substantial knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables. Provide discipline supervision for one larger project or more smaller projects.

Perform Civil engineering work from front-end through to detailed design of greenfield and brownfield hydrocarbon, mining and nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities

• Site grading and drainage design
• Supervise, guide and mentor junior staff
• Underground utilities design (culverts, subdrains)
• Terminal storage facility (tank lot) secondary containment
• Advise overall Lead Engineer, Project Management, and other disciplines of the environmental law requirements applicable to the project
• Prepare stormwater management plans including design of retention and detention ponds, controlled discharge
• Site earthwork planning and development
• Facilities infrastructure design such as pipeline corridors, pumphouse and crane pads
• Access road and crossing design
• Prepare/review Civil specifications and reports
• Project Management and Customer liaison will be asset.
• Provide construction support and site visits will be required.
• Manage Civil resource hours and schedule
• Prepare Civil MTOs, project cost estimates, tender documentation process, tender evaluation

What You Will Bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

• Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong understanding of civil earthworks design including environmental and geotechnical requirements.
• Working knowledge of civil design software Civil3D and InRoads will be an asset.
• Successful candidates will be self-starters with an aptitude for problem solving, the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. You must bring strong and effective leadership skills to this role
• Ontario urban planning experience preferred,
• A minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience.
• Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada

Required

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

• A minimum B. Sc. degree in Civil Engineering

Preferred

• Registration with PEO as a P. Eng
