Process Engineer Jobs

Renaissance Personnel along with our valued client in Chatham, is recruiting for a Process Engineer.

• Plan and co-ordinate capital projects and process improvements as assigned.

• Participate in the establishment of a preventative maintenance program, which will include parts on new equipment or process improvements as assigned.

• Obtain quotes for all outside vendors. All work performed by outside vendors shall require approval and shall be processed through purchase orders for projects as assigned.

• In conjunction with operations, the incumbent shall identify, evaluate, plan and document machine and plant improvements within approved capital budgets.

• Ensures all capital projects / process improvements meet the required legislative and Health & Safety requirements as assigned.

• Assist the production and maintenance supervisory group as required in the management of equipment down time.

• Effectively deal with contractors in job requirements in the issuing of work requirements

• Drive process improvements throughout extruding aluminum operations

• Develop and target key KPIs, such as Quality, Throughput, Safety, Downtime, and Process Breakdown

• Manage targets, analyze data/monitor trends, and drive projects to meet those targets. Monitor these initiatives through project schedules, timelines and deliverables using standard project management tools

• Manage capital projects including development of equipment specification, coordination of equipment runoffs, installation of equipment, and management of outside contractors

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement by characterizing and optimizing existing processes, reducing waste

• Supports extrusion team through daily interaction, problem solving skills and aiding in development of standard work instructions

• Ensure processes provide a high level of safety and ergonomic compliance

• Define and execute process improvement studies to create, characterize, and optimize extrusion related processes

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or relative experience

• University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering or equivalent

• Knowledge of the aluminum extrusion industry would be an asset
