Process Engineer Jobs

Day to Day:

The Process Safety Engineering Contractor is responsible for supporting the Sarnia Manufacturing Site’s process safety / safeguarding review program. This includes completing actions/recommendations from safeguarding reviews, completing relief valve calculations, providing document updates, and other process safety management work. The process safety engineering contractor works closely with Operations, Engineering, Technology, and Maintenance personnel to get the required information to complete their work. Employees at the Sarnia Manufacturing Centre follow a hybrid work model, where employees work 3 days a week in the office with the option to work the remaining days of the week from home (it is expected all staff are on-site Tuesday). The contract engineer will have this same flexibility. This position is budgeted until December 2024. There may be an opportunity for continued work after that.

Must Haves:

• Minimum 7 years of working experience in a related field; Refinery or chemical experience is an asset. The preferred background is someone with process engineering or process safety experience.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Process Safety.

• Engineering degree; Must have a P.Eng

• Knowledge of applying industry standards such as API, ASME, NFPA, CSA

• Familiarity with and industrial risk management tools (e.g. PHAPro, HAZOP, LOPA, consequence modelling) is an asset.

• Experience in relief valve sizing, hydraulic modelling, and process modelling (e.g UNISIM, ASPEN, PRO II).

• Experience working at an operating plant is an asset.

• Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
