About The Opportunity


The Ceridian Commercial Excellence team is looking for a collaborative and competitive Strategic Engagement Support (SES) candidate who supports sales efforts through creative commercial structuring for Enterprise global, complex deals.


This position is designed to be the intersection between the customer and Ceridian in helping develop commercial outcomes while building consensus across stakeholder groups both at a deal level and enterprise program level. At a deal level, SES will collaborate in the development of a calculated close plan, provide guidance on commercial term considerations, impacts as the negotiation unfolds, and monitor and adjust internal deliverables to meet both customer and Ceridian expectations. At an enterprise program level, SES will review recurring customer negotiation issues to advise the business of potential longer-term solutions and help develop business practices to optimize revenue and make future negotiations more efficient.


The candidate should have experience in global commercial negotiation, influencing and gaining customer agreement, and must possess strong communication and relationship building skills. It is critical to move with speed while ensuring alignment across multiple functions. The right candidate will be flexible, action and results oriented, and self-starting.


What You’ll Get To Do


  • Identify objectives and develop business practices based on aggregated data to support a cross-functional negotiation process that enables long-term scalability in a high growth environment
  • For assigned accounts, lead the commercial negotiation process (and participate as otherwise requested); make prioritization and trade-off decisions balancing seller/customer experience and business value
  • Partner with Sales and sales ecosystem to strategize on the approach, commercial structure, and negotiation process to execute the most optimal solution for both parties
  • Collaborate with internal Ceridian teams to help progress deals where process or communication challenges need resolution, escalating internally when required for timely decision
  • Identify, create, and maintain tools in support of the negotiation process and commercial term proposal
  • Influence development of sales materials that support the negotiation process and supplement the contract terms

Skills and experience we value


  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience, with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective verbal and written communication, particularly in oversight of commercial language in customer agreements
