The Senior Director Acceptance Sales & Solutions is charged with designing and maintaining a portfolio of emerging payments based on geography and industry verticals which will drive sustainable revenue growth while delivering value. The candidate with will set and lead strategy in partnership with other key stakeholders that will identify and prioritize existing and new entrants and their potential relevance to the Visa Strategy. The Senior Director is a key thought leader in the acquiring group and will architect successful partnerships, that will drive revenues and accelerate solution distribution. This individual will also work with various internal teams to ensure the voice of the acceptance community is considered when developing new products or rules.


Essential Functions:


  • Partner with account owners in region, where assigned, to negotiate commercial deals and terms with senior executives at potential partners
  • Exhibit ability to communicate with all levels within Client and Visa
  • Influence a team of professionals to drive the sales/partnership initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal Partners, Legal, Finance/Accounting, FI Partners, Consulting, Client Services, etc.
  • Drive C-Suite engagement at key acquirers
  • Partner with Product and other Internal support teams to insure we are building appropriate Value Proposition for new Products and Services we want Acquirers to deploy
  • Create strategic business, financial, and operational rationale in support of commercial deal
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with a variety of global constituents throughout a highly matrixed organization
  • Drive discussions and seek input from relevant constituencies on significant decisions


This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications


Basic Qualifications


  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree, language skills a plus, advanced degree(s) a plus
  • Ability to quickly assess an opportunity's potential, leveraging fact-based analyses and industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large, cross-functional (e.g. product, sales, strategy, marketing) and cross-regional teams
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor addressing a wide variety of functional business problems
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with a partner’s C-level executives to present Visa’s strategic vision and negotiate effectively on behalf of the company
  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian payments landscape, including emerging trends in segments, capabilities and entrants
  • 5-10 years of progressively responsible business experience with experience managing strategic relationships with financial services and technology solution providers
  • Available to travel up to 20% (subject to pandemic restrictions)
  • Extensive worldwide knowledge of the payment, risk management and payment security industry, including card, alternative and local payment processing
  • Ability to work independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to stakeholders and to juggle multiple initiatives at once
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across regional and functional lines


This is a people leader role, responsible for the development and success of other individuals under a similar mandate
