Job Description
At Interac, innovation is embedded in everything we do. You will be responsible for prototyping, architecting, detailed design, coding, code review and testing enterprise-level applications however within the context of alphas, beta, POTs, POCs, and Pilots. You play a key role in creating proposals, development planning and ongoing program management.

Planning
  • Collaboratively define and champion business and operational processes to bring ideas to proof of concept or equivalent
  • Conduct buy/build/partner assessments to evaluate various options for acquiring the necessary components or capabilities, and ultimately making recommendations on the most appropriate option based on the analysis and appropriateness to meet business goals
  • Identifying, leading and communicating the goals, objectives, and benefits of various projects to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Domain research and discovery, problem validation, solution breakdown and architecting, and solution validations.
  • End-to-end delivery, from initial concept to outcome (e.g., proof of concept, prototype, pilot) where solutions are architected/designed/developed with a commercial and enterprise grade potential in mind as required however, the final outcomes are not expected to be of commercial or enterprise grade.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to specify and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements and providing ongoing direction to technical and non-technical subject matter experts; working with stakeholders to understand the implications of decisions and make recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Developing relationships across the organization to build a culture of innovation and collaboration to foster and realize emerging technologies and innovative processes.
  • Work proactively with Interac collaborators, partnering with internal and external teams to identify key customer needs and solutions that can help to promote, streamline, and increase adoption of Interac products.
Delivery
  • Bridge technology experience with business acumen to design solutions that are flexible and extensible
  • Building new engagement models; working with cross-functional teams to execute programs and activations in service of Interac strategic priorities.
  • Clearly documenting features, integration guides, and release notes, and ensuring alignment across products and platforms.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and cost-effectiveness in innovation activities and managing budgets and funding agreements for innovation initiatives.
  • Developing complex, highly performance, scalable and reliable software systems (this position requires hands-on development)
  • Ability to connect the dots between ecosystems, technologies, markets, drivers, and networks and ideating approaches to address, creating plans and implementing recommendations.
Ecosystem Engagement
  • Fostering a culture of innovation within the organization and promoting knowledge-sharing and collaboration across teams and business units.
  • Seek input and feedback from ecosystem collaborators, weighing benefits and trade-offs to deliver quality test concepts and solutions.
  • Represent Interac at external forums and industry engagement as appropriate, accelerating organizational strategic goals by engaging and influencing key industry stakeholders and ecosystem audiences while gathering and sharing key market insights internally.
Knowing the technology
  • Experience using CI/CD automation/build tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions)
  • Open to working on interesting projects using different technologies beyond your expertise.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud providers and their offerings (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong experience in writing software in a variety of programming languages (JavaScript/Typescript, Python, Java) and Java based applications (Spring, Spring Boot, JMS, Hibernate)
  • Experience designing, creating and securing APIs; Web Services (SOAP/XML, REST/JSON), OAuth, JWT/JWE/JWS, WS-Security, SAML; familiar/experience with API management platform
  • Experience with microservices, containerization, Docker/Kubernetes, and deployment
  • Hands on experience with more than one of the following: mobile app development, front end UI development (web / mobile), cloud services, embedded firmware, data analysis and visualization, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
  • Experience embedding security protocols into applications (OAuth, JWT/JWS, WS)
  • Worked on a variety of software projects with 4+ years’ experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, and consuming REST Web Services
Who You Are...
  • Technical skills in architecture and development, and experience with building solutions, both from scratch and by leveraging existing technology including enterprise in-market and in-flight solutions
  • Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity
  • Experiences with the concepts of performance, scalability, resilience, security, RESTful APIs, for microservices, Cloud, and DevOps from idea to proof-of-concept to enterprise-ready
  • 5-7+ years software development experience or work in a similar role with Enterprise and/or Scaling (Series C or later stage) startup experience.
  • Experience creating and fostering teams that work together in a complex, volatile and uncertain environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to break down problems into logical components
  • Experience in ambiguous, multi-team and fast paced business environment with multiple workstreams, dependencies and timelines.
  • University Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and not afraid to dive into unknown technologies and business problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders as well as turn non-technical requirements into technical specifications
