The Director of Emerging Products is a senior leadership role that is responsible for driving innovation and revenue growth in emerging products. This position requires a growth mindset, a strong focus on data and financials, and the ability to overcome challenges and drive to results. This is an individual contributor role that reports directly to the C-Level.


Responsibilities


  • Understanding of how to develop and contribute to business service roadmaps based on internal and external feedback as well as changes in the competitive landscape.
  • Influence Account Management and Customer Success teams to hit cross-sell targets, collaborating closely to identify opportunities and develop strategies for upselling and expanding product usage.
  • Foster a strong relationship with Product Management, collaborating closely to build a roadmap that aligns with business objectives and market needs.
  • Utilize previous experience owning products and P&L to drive the go-to-market activity, including pricing and packaging optimization for these emerging products.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach, willing to roll up sleeves and take action when required to ensure the successful execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of the product/services to sales and other customer-focused teams, influencing and motivating them to actively sell and promote the offerings.
  • Be a numbers-oriented person, demonstrating expertise in data and financial analysis and leveraging insights to drive decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of assigned emerging products and business services, acting as a business within the main company structure.
  • Embrace a growth mindset, seeking out opportunities for product/service expansion and driving initiatives to capture new markets and customers.
  • Co-own the P&L with the Product Leader, ensuring achievement of key business metrics.


Qualifications


  • Experience building business cases, defining business requirements and OKR/KPI’s
  • Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Results-driven and action-oriented, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and project execution.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of demonstrated general management, product management or product marketing experience in a SaaS environment.
  • Bachelor’ or Master’s Degree in business, marketing, computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience running product lines or owning products and P&L in previous positions.
  • Growth mindset with a passion for identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities.
  • Experience with defining, building and forecasting different revenue models including SaaS models.
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with Product Management teams to develop and execute product roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to effectively sell internal teams on the value of promoting and selling the products/services.
  • Experience in influencing and driving sales resources to meet cross-sell targets and drive customer expansion.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze operational and financial data to drive decision-making and achieve business objectives.
