Job Description
Reporting to the Vice-President, Property and Facilities, the Director, Change Management is responsible for ensuring that change initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing internal stakeholder collaboration, adoption and usage while taking into consideration the overall impact and cultural sensitivity to change. This position will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business process, systems, job roles and also ensuring the right stakeholders are informed and appropriately included in the planning process, as applicable.
The Director, Change Management will be required to work with many others in the organization to be successful. The incumbent will act as a coach for senior leaders and executives to help them fulfill their role of change sponsor, and may also coach or provide direct support to all levels to help people through transitions.
Responsibilities
  • Lead by example, to exhibit, encourage and motivate Woodbine’s Values and Beliefs
  • Track and report progress and any issues that arise, along with success metrics.
  • Support training efforts by providing input and documentation and assisting with the design and delivery of training programs, as required
  • Apply a structured methodology to strategizing and executing change management initiatives that will support the adoption of the changes required
  • Conduct impact analysis, identify human and organizational risks, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders to enroll early into the process
  • Assess the ongoing impacts of the initiative, and pivot where necessary. Be as proactive as possible to identify and mitigate risk factors, and when necessary react quickly
  • Create action plans for five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan
  • Support communication efforts whether through information exchange, encouraging appropriate inclusion and collaboration, listening to feedback and seriously considering within the scope of the project
  • Manage and promote realistic expectations with respect to the change initiative.
  • Consult and coach project teams, senior leaders, managers/supervisors and any other stakeholders.
Knowledge
  • A thorough understanding of how people go through change and the change management process
  • A high level of organizational knowledge to be able to know how to appropriately include others and how to complete a project through others
  • Knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
Skills

Education & Experience
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years work experience related to Change Management
  • MBA, PROSCI, Lean/Six Sigma, ITIL an asset
  • Solid experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
  • Certification in change management considered an asset
