Job Description
Ryan’s Government Grants practice helps Canadian business find and leverage government funding. We offer a wide variety of online resources to educate the general public, which supplements our personalized approach to funding. Our core service offering is to help businesses identify funding opportunities, then execute on the application process to optimize their success with government incentives. We leverage enterprise-level marketing automation systems, alongside proven lead generation tactics to create a constant funnel of new leads interested in government funding. There is also an opportunity to leverage outbound lead generation strategies to expand our reach and help even more Canadian businesses tap into government funding opportunities.
The Sales and Marketing Specialist will have three core focus areas/responsibilities:
  • Program Development
  • Sales Development and Go-To-Market Support
  • Content Creation and Search Engine Optimization
Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
People
Content Creation & Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – 35%
Responsible for creating, writing, reviewing, and editing content on funding-related topics and articles which will be published on our website and social media platforms to educate Canadian business professionals and drive website traffic. You will research key SEO terms to implement and ensure the content gains maximum exposure. The role will also be responsible for the design, development, and updates to sales and marketing content and collateral which include presentations and info sheet master and other collateral/aids requested such as brochures, special reports including Funding IQ reports, info sheets and sales aids.
Sales Development & Go-To-Market Support – 35%
Lead, execute, and support the inbound and outbound marketing campaigns across a wide variety of channels including blog content, downloadable resources, and email assets. You will support and build impactful nurture campaigns, mine existing clients, and develop new inbound and outbound sales strategies to fuel the government funding practice, as well as cross-selling other Ryan services. As needed, you will provide back up support to both the Sales Development team on MQL (Marketing Qualified Leads) and SQL (Sales Qualified Leads) and sales team on the creation of client info sheets and CRM target opportunity reports.
Program Development – 30%
Track and research government funding programs, ensuring the team is current on all active, upcoming funding programs. You will support the program development team with funding program analysis, systemization, first and second touch email templates, email campaigns, program website content copy, program info sheets/sales collateral, website program database management (for funding lists). You will help build salesforce reports for new funding programs, campaigns and go-to market strategies to target new and existing prospects, clients and strategic partners.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assisting with email campaigns and client reengagements strategies.
  • Monitor traffic on website and social media platforms and take actions accordingly to improve the traffic metrics.
  • Gain fluidity and expertise in customizing CRM reports to target clients/prospects for funding opportunities or campaigns and complete data analytics on individual territory and gain insights from other best practices in Sales/Marketing.
  • Write, edit and review content for websites, social media pages and email campaigns. This includes content for our website as well as our social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube.
  • Provide support to sales on the creation of new info sheets for industries, clients and specific events/conferences and tradeshows as needed
  • Support sales and go-to-market strategies by:
  • Collaborating with the Sales and Grants engagement leaders to identify new funding opportunities and programs.
  • Optimize Search Engine Optimization driven content and increase the site traffic.
  • Meet and collaborate with the Sales and Grants engagement teams 2-3 times per week to discuss opportunities, progress, issues, etc.
  • Ensure sales and marketing collateral and materials are up to date, accurate and available for the sales team.
  • Be backup support for event planning and promotions for both webinars and live events, incorporating co-branded and solo sessions to engage and nurture leads and clients, as well as tech support for webinars during the day of the event.
  • Be a backup support for the MQL and SQL processes for the sales development team as needed
  • Providing program development support on new program rollout including team updates, program analysis, systemization and updates to go-to-market and sales collateral and resources.
  • Ensure content is up to date across various mediums and platforms including website and sales collateral.
Education And Experience
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a variety of environments

  • 3+ years of business-to-business (B2B) marketing experience
  • Experience with adhering to search engine optimization (SEO) best practices

  • Familiarity with social media business profile management, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube

  • Post-secondary graduate of a marketing, commerce, English, and/or web design program

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
  • Experience in a SME level ERP/CRM system such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Sugar CRM, Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics, Siebel, etc.
  • Familiarity with Dropbox or similar cloud storage systems.
  • Basic Excel: multi-field filtering and sorting, PDF preparation
  • Familiarity with Teams, Zoom or similar team collaboration tools
  • Advanced use of Office 365, Salesforce, RingCentral, and web conferencing solutions
Bonus Abilities
  • Graphic design competency, such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and SQL coding language, as well as WordPress.
  • Bilingual (English & French Canadian) writing skills are an asset.
  • Experience with Google Analytics or other web presence optimization platforms.
Certificates And Licenses
Valid driver’s license preferred.
