We seek a dynamic candidate to become our new Marketing and Communications Manager!
RESPONSIBILITIES
PARTNERSHIP SERVICING (40%)
·Lead servicing of select corporate partner accounts
·Foster ongoing, positive relations with assigned partners
·Assist Director in planning placement of U SPORTS and partner branding at events
·Coordinate partnership deliverables Support championship hosts to ensure that partner deliverables are respected and exceeded
·Update and maintain existing U SPORTS templates for championship hosts
·Coordinate tracking and reporting of partnership deliverables
·Ongoing partnership monitoring and issues management
COMMUNICATIONS/CONTENT (30%)
·Lead day-to-day public and media relations (including pitching stories)
·Responsible for the development of regular communications pieces (Top 10s, U SPORTS Buzz)
·Manage USPORTS.ca (including performance reports)
·Coordinate communications priorities with U SPORTS championship hosts
·Maintain and improve U SPORTS championship communications templates
·Write recaps of all U SPORTS corporate events
·Plan and coordinate communications needs for Canadian delegations to FISU championships and World University Games
·Coordinate communication needs with partner leagues
·Oversee departmental yearly content calendar
·Plan and coordinate special projects as required
·Ongoing media monitoring and issues management
BRANDING (10%)
·Assist Director and Sports Department with ensuring Brand standards across U SPORTS platforms, championships and events
·Responsible for championship logo development (with graphic designers and hosts)
SUPERVISION (15%)
·Manage full and part-time staff, contractors and interns
·Maintain work schedules for direct reports
·Regular planning meetings with Content Coordinator and interns
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (5%)
·Maintain positive relationships with members, conference and NSO/partner league communications staff
·Maintain relationships with FISU and keep the Director of Marketing and Communications, Chief Sport Officer, Manager of International Programs, membership and NSO partners informed of important issues and developments in international relations.
WHAT PROFILE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You are passionate about sports and sports marketing and communications;
- You understand that working in sports requires evening and weekend commitments;
- You are a multi-tasker and have strong attention to detail;
- You are bilingual (French and English);
- You are a strong communicator and understand how to deal with partners and members verbally and in written correspondence;
- Previous experience in a multisport environment would be considered an asset;
- Someone with a "team-first" approach;
- You are willing to travel.
- Someone with a college diploma/university degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience);
- Experience with Presto schedule and stats interfaces would be considered an asset;
COMPENSATION: $65,000 - $75,000 per year based on experience, excellent benefits package.
Office Location: Richmond Hill, Ont.
