Position Title: Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Job Type: Full-Time, 35 hours per week
Job Duration: One year contract with chance to become permanent
Location: Oakville/Hybrid
Position Summary:
The Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator will play a key role on the Visit Oakville Team by contributing to the development and management of Visit Oakville’s social media and other digital channels. A natural storyteller with a knack for creating engaging content, the Coordinator will create and implement digital communications plans to promote Oakville, manage web site updates and conduct photography and videography shoots, as well as regularly analyze and report on the effectiveness of the digital campaigns and programs based on available data and metrics.
This role is a unique opportunity to join a small but mighty team and tell the stories of a charming, lakeside destination in the GTA.
Marketing & Communications
·Develop campaigns, plans and content for external channels including social media, website and e-news
·Monitor social media channels, grow following and increase engagement
·Write a variety of marketing content including blog posts, articles and emails
·Produce video content, visuals and regularly update photography
·Update visitoakville.com, researching businesses, events, and promotions online
·Collect, monitor, analyze and report results on web site and social media data to optimize digital performance
·Provide event support and organize promotions
·Visit local tourism businesses to create content and/or deliver materials
·Undertake other duties/projects as assigned by the Visit Oakville team.
Knowledge & Skills:
·2+ years’ experience in marketing/digital media/social media
·A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in marketing, communications, public relations or related field
·Experience and superior skills in development and creation of compelling social media and digital content (including video); experience managing and measuring social media communities and expertise with the major social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite)
·Expertise in managing social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, You Tube, Facebook TikTok, blogs, Pinterest etc.)
·Technical knowledge and experience with electronic newsletter functionality, web site and content management
·Knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe, Canva, WordPress
·Some experience in video production, photography and graphic design is an asset
·Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects/priorities
·Strong writing skills including ability to edit and meet deadlines
·Ability to work independently with minimal supervision at times
·Ability to work outside normal business hours as required
·Knowledge of the Oakville community is an asset
·A valid driver’s license is an asset.
