What We Get

• A proven professional with PCP designation in good standing through the International Payroll Institute.

• A self-motivated individual who can multitask, meet sensitive deadlines, and manage their time independently.
• Experience working on both Canada and US payroll.
• A capable expert with at three to five experience in Payroll Administration Bachelors degree in a relevant field. Benefits experience is a plus!
• A familiar hand with the Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Payroll systems (Ceridian, ADP, or UKG others).
• A problem-solver who is organized, detail oriented, and has strong follow-through.

Responsibilities

Those all-important functions and responsibilities:

• Document accurate and detailed records of payroll functions for audit purposes following statutory requirements.
• Uphold employee's files in electronic format to ensure they are up to date.
• Maintain the integrity of payroll system data for employee changes, deductions, taxable benefits, new hires, terminations, and more.
• Handle verification, calculations and processes for new hires, changes, and payments guided by current government legislation.
• Stay informed on the latest payroll legislation, regulations, procedures, and the Employment Standards Act.
• Responsible for payment including earnings, vacation pay, statutory pay, overtime, garnishments, retroactive adjustments, terminations, ROEs, etc.
• Investigate and resolve any payroll issues/inquiries with employees.
• Enroll, coordinate, and reconcile benefits in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Process semi-monthly payroll for over 200+ employees across multiple provinces.
• Complete journals for month and year-end reporting promptly.
• Work in various Payroll, Benefits, and accounting activities; be available to support on special projects as assigned.
