The Finance department is responsible for all corporate accounting tasks including: bookkeeping, financial reporting, audits, and payroll. The Payroll Clerk will work closely with other payroll coordinators and junior finance associates. Think they’re just a bunch of boring accountants and analysts? You didn’t hear that from us! The purpose of the Payroll Clerk position is to assist with the preparation and processing of the semi-monthly payroll as well as provide support with time-off management, files administration, reconciliation and financial reporting.

What’s it like working as a Payroll Clerk at Questrade?

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for the timely payroll adjustments and the updating and accuracy of all employee data maintained for payroll processing purposes. The Payroll Clerk also prepares a variety of reports and reconciliations to support the payroll & Finance function in full.

In this position, you will prepare, coordinate and support semi-monthly payroll processing for all Questrade Financial Group companies. You will input pay adjustments accurately in Ceridian Dayforce. You will confirm overtime and statutory holiday calculations and make manual adjustments as needed. You will support updating employee records information relating to payroll. You will prepare ROE’s, and various payroll reports as requested. You will track all Employee LOAs and exceptions per Employment Agreements in Dayforce. You will support the response to all payroll, vacation and benefits related questions. You will support with the documentation of payroll, vacation management, and benefits processes and procedures. You will remain current with payroll legislation and regulations. You will validate and prepare the T2200 form as per employee’s request. You will collect data from different departments on time spent on projects. You will manage emails. You will complete other duties as assigned.

✔ You have post-secondary degree/diploma in Accounting or other related field

✔ You have 1-2 years’ experience in payroll or full cycle bookkeeping

✔ You are able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines

✔ You have the ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information

✔ You have the ability to work independently with little supervision

✔ You are proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Brownie points if…

✔ You are enrolled in the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification

✔ You have experience with Ceridian Dayforce
