Controller - Hybrid
Position Overview:
Are you an analytical designated accounting and finance professional with a reporting and operational spirit combined with a commitment to financial management? Would you like to use your experience in a well-established company with a successful track record, and plans for future growth? If so, Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Accounting & Finance Recruitment, has partnered with our client to recruit a Controller. The Controller will be reporting to and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities:
The Controller is responsible to:
- Other financial reports as required
- Manage all aspects of operational accounting in an efficient and effective manner
- Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, perform variance analysis and compare to actual
- Internal financial statement preparation along with preparation of other financial reports and operating metrics
- Ensure that internal controls are properly in place to safeguard company assets
- Oversee completion of all daily accounting tasks and regulatory reporting
- Lead and guide a team with effective management and mentoring skills.
Requirements:
The ideal Controller will possess a Canadian accounting designation, CPA (CA, CGA CMA). You would ideally have previous experience in the manufacturing environment, but having a hands-on attitude will be key. You are a talented accountant and have a strong ability to maintain strong financial management while looking after the accounting function of the organization and providing high-level analysis.
The Controller will possess effective communication skills and be able to work with all staff within the organization to ensure that the work gets done properly and on time. Having strong people management and leadership skills to mentor a team while working independently. You should be comfortable working with large accounting systems and should have a strong working knowledge of MS Excel. A strong ability to take ownership is also important in this role.
Compensation:
- 10% bonus based on personal & company performance

- Base salary $90 - $100 DOQ
