Genesus head office located in Oakville, Manitoba is seeking a qualified individual to join our Oakville office team in the job position of Controller.

Position Qualifications

The successful Candidate must have the following qualifications:

• Strong Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada eligible for employment in Canada
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Accounting Software
• 2-5 years as an accountant or controller
• Excellent communication & Leadership skills
• Effective in conflict resolution and decision-making

Controller Responsibilities

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company. This includes managing all deposits, oversight of journal entries and vendor payments. The Controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensuring they comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Accounting Responsibilities Include

• Bank reporting and account management; Money transfers & bank transactions
• PST & GST filings
• Prepare material for Review Engagements & tax returns
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve transactional issues
• Overseeing A/P & A/R accounts
• Manage fixed asset transactions (purchase/disposal)
• Manage recurring and payment journal entries
