Part-Time HR & Benefits Coordinator Needed

Summary


The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the Total Rewards/Payroll department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing payroll activities accurately and efficiently. The Administrator will also manage and maintain payroll records and resolve any payroll-related inquires or issues from employees. This is a part-time hybrid position working a total of 24 hours per week. This role is located at our Head Office in Scarborough and is a permanent part-time position, working 24 hours per week. Our Head Office works with a hybrid working model – two (2) days in office and one (1) day at home.


Responsibilities

  • Assist HR and Payroll with additional and ad-hoc projects
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, accounting, and other key stakeholders
  • Ensuring that stat holiday pay by province is calculating correctly
  • Other duties as required
  • Answering basic employee inquiries
  • Verify and enter employee data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, timekeeping records
  • Checking that premiums are calculating correctly on specific shifts and positions
  • Check vacation rates by provinces
  • Process payroll for all Canadian employees using Ceridian Dayforce
  • Filing
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or errors
  • Learning the Ceridian Dayforce System
  • Stay updated on payroll-related laws, regulations and best practices and ensure compliance in all provinces
  • Collaborate with the benefits team to ensure the accurate processing of employee benefits and retirement plan
  • Assist with year-end
  • Run reports as required


Qualifications:

  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS is an asset
  • Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree/diploma in Human Resource Management or studying toward a degree/diploma in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • 2+ years of experience working in HR/Payroll
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations.
