Benefits and Pension Manager
Compensation up to 110,000 + Terrific Bonus + Great Pension Plan + Full Benefits on Day One+ 3 Weeks of Vacation. This role is a HYBRID role and you will need to be in the office 2-3 days per week. The office is located less than a 5 minute walk from Union Station.
The Opportunity: Our client is a highly service oriented and collaborative organization and they are looking for a Benefits and Pension Manager. This role is responsible for the full cycle management of the Canadian Benefit and Pension Plan and will have one direct report. This role works closely with the HR team and other Managers across the organization to ensure a positive employee experience with a focus on driving engagement.
Responsibilities:
- SME with industry trends and provide options to enhance the employee experience
- Provide guidance and leadership to Benefit Administrator
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide support to the Pension Committee including organizing quarterly meetings
- Reconcile and process monthly premium invoices
- Conduct employee education sessions related to benefits and pension
- Manage workers compensation forms ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner to the appropriate provincial office
- Manage relationships with HR Business Partners and with Disability Case Managers
- Provide plan beneficiaries information regarding their responsibilities, provide employees with required documentation
- Lead the annual bonus to RSP transfer process
- Manage and prepare all reports related to leaves
- Ensure the operational procedures and workflow are accurate and have a focus on always improving efficiency and productivity while maximizing HRMS
- Manage the Short Term and Long Term disability claims and Maternity and Parental Leaves
- Manage and prepare pension and benefit related reporting
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration, audit and maintenance of Benefits and Pension plans, ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as they pertain to the pension and benefit programs
Qualifications:
- Proficient Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and data management skills
- Excellent customer service and collaboration skills
- 5+ years of experience with group benefits and a minimum of 1 year of management experience as Team Lead, Supervisor or Manager of Benefits and Pension
- Time management skills with ability to coordinate and prioritize several deliverables and deadlines
