The Recognition, Retirement, Benefits & Well-being organization is responsible for developing strategies, plan designs and policies, and for governing the recognition, retirement, savings, benefits and well-being programs globally. The Canadian Benefits Team within this organization is responsible for developing and implementing benefits and well-being strategies that align with colleague needs and expectations, as well as TD's shared commitments, people strategy and business priorities.



About this Role


The Benefits Manager is responsible for the integrated and proactive management and governance of benefit plans and policies for TD Bank in Canada. This role requires a strong, strategic operator who can mobilize information from multiple sources, manage numerous stakeholders and make recommendations for existing and new initiatives, all while ensuring effective monitoring is in place to measure the health of our colleagues and success of our programs.


Accountabilities


  • Effectively manage relationships with internal HR call centres and admin teams, answering complex questions, clarifying policies and making recommendations on exceptions
  • Assess competitive positioning and inclusivity of these plans, and develop recommendations for design and pricing changes
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of these plans and support any reporting requirements
  • Ensure strong governance of these plans and adherence to enterprise policies, legislations, regulations and policy/vendor contracts
  • Act as the benefits subject matter expert for TD Bank's Group Life & Health plan designs in Canada, both insured and self-funded
  • Lead in the planning, development and execution of all benefits communications and change management efforts in partnership with internal colleagues and external vendors
  • Develop strategies to improve the experience and understanding of these plans to ensure the benefits are leveraged in the best way for our colleagues and their families
  • Manage relationships with insurance carriers, benefits providers and consultants to resolve issues and ensure strong vendor performance

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations


  • Undergraduate degree
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) Canada or similar benefits?specific designation


Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience


  • Direct in-house experience managing Group Life & Health plans in Canada, preferably at a large employer
  • Ability to manage changing priorities under tight deadlines and with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to resolve conflict and colleague complaints and concerns
  • Demonstrated ability to impact and influence others at all levels in the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite of products
  • Insurance business acumen and deep analytical skills
  • High curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset
  • High interpersonal savvy and attention to detail
  • Strong project management, problem solving and highly developed reasoning skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
