About the Role:
Fitzrovia is seeking to hire an HR Specialist, Payroll to join our team. The HR Specialist, Payroll will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, maintaining the human resources information system (ADP), administering the company benefits plan, and analyzing key human resources metrics.

As we are a highly collaborative team, this role is on-site full-time and the successful candidate will be required to work in the office Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain employee records accurately in the HRIS and benefits system.
- Participate in projects and process enhancements with the Human Resources team
- Full cycle weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees in adherence with government legislation and internal policies.
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries about payroll and benefits.
- Data entry into the payroll and benefits system, including new hires, leaves, terminations, and any employment related changes.
- Apply knowledge of payroll concepts, employment standards legislation, regulations, accounting, calculations, and terminology
- Create and update process documentation for internal processes.
- Manage the setup of payroll accounts for new business entities.
- Maintain the HRIS (ADP), which includes updating employment data, reviewing time and attendance, training new employees on the system, etc.
- Manage the month-end and year-end payroll processing by running reports and assisting the Accounting and Finance team with auditing and balancing.
- Oversee Benefits Administration, including entering new hires into the benefit portal and providing support and training to employees as required.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Additional education, including the Canadian Payroll Certification (PCP), or working towards certification is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of Canadian legislative requirements, the Employment Standards Act, and CRA regulations
- Experience in administering group benefits plans
- Bachelors degree, diploma or certificate in human resources, payroll, business administration or a similar field
- Experience working with ADP Workforce Now (WFN)
- High proficiency with Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas.
- 2-3 years’ experience processing full-cycle payroll for more than 100 employees
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee data
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and efficient data entry skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Must be a self-starter and problem solver
