IT Service Management is recruiting for a Senior IT Analyst in CPP Investments’ Information Technology group. The successful candidate will focus supporting and enhancing enterprise data and reporting applications. These two application areas are mission-critical in providing services for day-to-day measurement and optimization of CPP Investments’ $300B+ diversified asset portfolio. The successful candidate will bring significant, diversified IT experience from the areas of enterprise data management, vendor data processing, data warehousing, BI reporting, ETL, and related IT practices. These skills need to be complemented with strong communication and business skills. IT Service Management is business-facing, highly dynamic environment which provides a right candidate with a number of learning and growth opportunities. Primary job responsibilities include providing technical/business application support, identifying and driving improvements and working with the broader cloud & digital workplace team to mature and advance our operating procedures.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate, and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment and to lead small but complex technical projects.
• Applying analytical, technical, and business skills to investigate day-to-day platform and process issues, determine the root cause and deliver viable solutions both proactively and reactively
• Effectively liaise with operational support and engineers for different applications and platforms assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
• Partnering with Application Development teams and other technology & data groups to create synergies and advance CPP Investments’ technology portfolio
• Demonstrate technical leadership by proposing advancements with tangible business benefits to CPP Investments' IT portfolio
• Provides leadership in identifying and delivering enhancements (automation, consolidation, risk reduction, efficiency, cost-avoidance, etc.) to existing systems and processes.
• Ensuring application systems are operating according to established service levels agreements
• Work closely with the management team to mature operational practices
• Defining and collecting metrics to understand trends in systems performance; develop and execute plans to mitigate symptoms
• Provide a dedicated rotational weekend/overnight support as required
• Providing disciplined tracking and reporting of various activities according to CPP Investments’ standards

Qualifications

Core technical requirements:

• 1-3 years experience working with large (20k+ lines) code bases
• 3-6 years of relevant professional experience
• 1-3 years of programming knowledge in either PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python, with ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable and robust code in a professional setting
• Practical knowledge of software engineering concepts and best practices, including testing frameworks and libraries, automation
• 3-6 years experience working with RESTful APIs
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise database: Oracle, MS SQL
• 1-2 years of ITSM Tool experience (preferably ServiceNow)
• Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent experience
• 3-6 years of Enterprise Scheduling experience: Control-M, Autosys, ActiveBatch, JAMS
• 1-3 years experience managing and maintaining a code base across a development pipeline: Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, UrbanCode
• 3+ years of experience in administering and managing enterprise level applications
• 1-2 years of experience working in Windows and Linux server environments with knowledge of systems and application services

Non-Technical requirements:

• Strong business judgement based on understanding of operational and commercial aspects of business and good commercial awareness
• Experience in technical writing for creating and maintaining concise Knowledge Base articles.
• Strong communication skills with an ability to explain technical concepts to a wide variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders is a plus
• Ability to navigate fast moving environments and adjust trajectory as learning
• Curiosity and courage in taking on challenging problems across variety of business areas and/or industries
