Our client who is a leading CPG manufacturer - dry grocery, located within major retailers across Canada has partnered with Hubble Talent to uncover a Sales Strategy Manager who will report to a Senior Director, manage 3 direct reports and work (hybrid) out of their Toronto office.
Duties include:
Strategy Development: Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business objectives, market trends, and portfolio goals. Identify growth opportunities, target markets, and sales channels by customer to optimize revenue generation and market share.
Portfolio Management: Analyze and optimize the performance of the product portfolio. Monitor market dynamics, competitive positioning, and profitability to drive portfolio expansion and maximize revenue growth.
Sales Planning and Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop sales plans (Joint Value Creation), set targets, and define sales objectives. Ensure effective execution of sales strategies by providing guidance, aligning resources, and coordinating efforts between departments.
Performance Tracking and Analysis: Monitor sales performance against targets and KPIs. Analyze data, market trends, and customer insights to evaluate strategy effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and provide actionable recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration and alignment with marketing, product development, and finance teams to integrate strategies, coordinate initiatives, and optimize overall business performance.
Sales Team Enablement: Provide guidance, training, and support to sales teams. Equip them with necessary tools, resources, and training to effectively execute strategies and enhance sales capabilities.
Market Research and Insights: Leverage market research, customer analysis, and competitor intelligence to gather insights. Utilize data-driven insights to refine strategies, identify customer needs, and capitalize on market opportunities.
Operational Efficiency: Streamline sales processes, optimize workflows, and leverage technology to enhance sales team productivity and operational efficiency.
Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships cross functionally with Category Management, Insights Team, Marketing and Sales to drive customer satisfaction (JVC) and loyalty aligned with our Portfolio Strategy.
Reporting and Communication: Coordinate and provide regular reporting and communication to senior management, presenting sales performance, insights, and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
You will bring:
A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or any other related business field. MBA an asset.
• Minimum of 5 years in a Corporate Strategy position in the CPG industry or consulting organization.
• Additionally minimum of 10 years in Category Management, Marketing or Sales leadership position.
• Strong financial background (conceptions, reporting and analysis).
• Strong knowledge of Nielsen and syndicated research tools, methods and analysis.
• Candidate must have a solid track record of developing and executing an organization's strategic priorities.
• Travel Requirements: The candidate may be required to travel occasionally to meet with customers, attend industry events, or visit retail stores.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): The candidate would be responsible for tracking and analysing shopper marketing performance metrics, such as sales lift, shopper engagement, and ROI. The candidate would be expected to use this data to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
• Technical Skills: The candidate should have experience working with shopper marketing tools, such as Nielsen or IRI, and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Leadership Skills: The candidate should have strong leadership skills and be able to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. The candidate should also have a collaborative working style and be able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Industry Knowledge: The candidate should have a deep understanding of the pasta food manufacturing industry, including trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape. The candidate should also stay up-to-date on emerging retail channels, such as e-commerce and mobile, and incorporate these channels into the shopper marketing strategy.
