POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as the Manager, ESG Strategy & Implementation. This role is vital to our commitment to integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into our real estate fund advisory portfolio. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing ESG strategies, managing ESG integration processes, and driving sustainable initiatives across our real estate portfolio throughout Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and Implement ESG Strategies:
·Collaborate with senior management to define the overall ESG strategy and objectives for the organization.
·Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements related to ESG.
·Design and implement comprehensive ESG strategies, policies, and guidelines that align with international standards and industry benchmarks.
·Identify and prioritize ESG goals and targets; and develop action plans to achieve them.
·Drive continuous improvement of ESG performance and ensure alignment with business objectives.
ESG Integration and Reporting:
·Collaborate with internal teams, including asset management, acquisitions, development and operations, to integrate ESG principles into various stages of the real estate investment lifecycle.
·Establish ESG key performance metrics and reporting frameworks to track and communicate ESG performance and progress.
·Develop ESG reporting templates, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and transparency of data.
·Oversee the collection, analysis, and verification of ESG data from various sources; such as property managers, vendors, and third-party service providers.
·Prepare regular reports and presentations on ESG performance for senior management, investors, and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
·Support investor relations activities by responding to ESG-related inquiries, preparing ESG disclosures, and participating in investor meetings and presentations.
·Engage with investors, industry associations, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to stay informed about emerging ESG trends and requirements.
·Foster strong relationships with external organizations and partners to leverage their expertise and collaborate on ESG initiatives.
·Represent the organization at industry conferences, seminars, and other relevant events to enhance its ESG profile and reputation.
ESG Training and Awareness:
·Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and stakeholders on ESG principles, practices, and their significance.
·Raise awareness about ESG goals and initiatives through internal communications, newsletters, and workshops.
·Provide guidance and support to teams and departments in implementing ESG practices and incorporating them into their day-to-day operations.

QUALIFICATIONS
·Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, sustainability, or environmental science. A master's degree or additional certifications in ESG-related disciplines is an asset.
·Minimum of 5 years of experience in ESG strategy and integration, preferably within the real estate investment industry.
·Strong knowledge of ESG principles, frameworks (e.g., GRESB, GRI, PRI), and best practices in the context of real estate investment.
·Familiarity with sustainability certifications and standards relevant to the real estate sector (e.g., LEED, BOMA, WELL, WIRED).
·Knowledge of Canadian and international ESG regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements.
·Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing ESG strategies, including the establishment of performance indicators and reporting frameworks.
·Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess ESG risks and opportunities within real estate investment contexts.
·Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
·Demonstrates project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to sustainability and responsible investment practices.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
·General office environment, based in Toronto
·Montez Corporation is primarily an office culture but embraces a flexible work environment to assist with balancing work and personal lives.
·Extended time spent working on a computer and/or mobile device
·Flexible hours, available to work outside of normal business hours when necessary
·Travel within Canada 1-3 times per year for company sponsored events and related activities
