Our Team:


Our corporate office, located in downtown Toronto serves as the headquarters for the global Base Metals business, providing support to all our Base Metals operations. In Mississauga, Vale’s Base Metals Technology Development team work to improve Vale’s competitive edge and support its growth strategies by coming up with safer and more environmentally responsible technology.


The Opportunity


The incumbent will support in data collection, analysis, and reporting for sustainability performance indicators, including ESG metrics. Assist in preparing the business Sustainability report, ensuring alignment with reporting frameworks and compliance with ESG reporting standards. Conduct research on sustainability issues, trends, and ESG-related topics. Stay updated on ESG reporting standards, indices, benchmarks, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices. Additionally, you will.


  • Support the identification, mapping, and management of ESG risks for Vale’s sites/assets.
  • Support internal and external presentations by preparing materials, data summaries, and presentations that communicate ESG performance and initiatives. Contribute to developing and implementing ESG strategies, programs, and initiatives, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams:
  • Collaborate with other teams to gather data, ensure data integrity, and maintain stakeholder database, including stakeholder registry, grievances, critical issues, and communication records.
  • Coordinate and respond to external ESG questionnaires and surveys.
  • Provide support to the Sustainability Manager and the team regarding data and performance report requests. E.g., for annual sustainability reporting and third-party sustainability assurances (ICMM, TSM, etc.), annual performance excellence assessment.
  • Support site implementation of Vale’s management model and enable model’s adoption.


About You


Education:


  • Undergraduate degree is required.


Experience:


  • Minimum of 3-4 years relevant experience in similar subject area.


Skills:


  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in using data collection and analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
