Position Title: Project Manager- Business Central ERP
Location: Canada , Remote
Description/Summary:
A rapidly growing technology focused company located in Ottawa, Canada has an immediate need to hire a Project Manager responsible for overall project management and planning activities for projects and all business aspects (i.e., technical, operation, economical) of the requirements and analysis phase of larger projects. The Project Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the final deliverable of a Digital transformation project meets all of the intended needs of the business. The Project Manager will need to be able to understand the SDLC models and what their specific activities are to deliver a solid set of requirements artifacts, to understand the project standards, to develop and implement solid project plans and business cases to accurately test all aspects of the system and to maintain detailed and accurate documentation per all project standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage smaller project efforts, to include project plan, scope/budget/resource management, time management (activities & task planning), communications, risk management, QA and testing, user training, ongoing maintenance and support.
- Identify organizational business opportunities for improvement and streamlining of business processes.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Provide advice and guidance to PMO on status and direction
- Develop, manage and lead various smaller projects to include: development and management of project plans, define and deliver individual project deliverables as a part of the overall program deliverables, manage the expectations of all stakeholders, manage all project relationships, manage project teams in delivering the projects, communicate and manage tasks and activities to a schedule with the team, and provide feedback to team members as appropriate.
- Produce detailed project plans and schedules, including objectives, terms of reference, major milestones, project charters and deliverables, appropriate reporting and project control mechanisms, risk mitigation strategies.
- Direct, implement and produce detailed project plans and schedules, including objectives, terms of reference, major milestones, project charters and deliverables, appropriate reporting and project control mechanisms, risk mitigation strategies.
- Analyze, evaluate, develop business processes.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal (i.e., day-to-day discussions, team meetings) and written (requirements and design specifications) form, as well as have an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications.
- Learn, Support and use client methodologies.
- Identify and evaluate critical success parameters, factors and performance measurements; and
- Accurately determine, assign, track and manage project task, activity, documentation, time information per internal standards. Accurately assess the risks associated with each solution design/project.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with applying and general knowledge of various analysis and gathering approaches, methodologies and models.
- Experience with requirements management, use case and modeling tools.
- Leadership and management skills in leading technical personnel through the delivery of software development projects.
- Must Have skills – Microsoft D365 Business Central, Microsoft Project, Azure Devops, Microsoft Azure, SharePoint
- Thorough working knowledge of the Business Central ERP and implmentation methodologies.
- Strong project management skills with high level documentation skills
- Experience in data gathering and facilitation techniques (i.e., meetings and JAD sessions).
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, General Information Technology or a related field, AND
- Relevant combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 (five) years of relevant experience in project management and business analysis
- Preferred: PMP certification and formal training in negotiation/facilitation skills
