Job Description

The National Sales Manager – Canada will be responsible for leading MISTRAS’ sales team in Canada. In this role, his/her responsibilities will include aligning sales with MISTRAS’ overall strategic growth targets and ensuring strong coordination with Operations, Products, and other internal stakeholders. Management and coordination of opportunities for the multiple operating entities within Canada (union, non-union, etc) is also a crucial focus for the successful candidate. Essential to this role is the ability to build successful sales plans that consider market size, trends, competitive landscape, and respective market share. Additionally, this person will help implement the division’s plans to win new business, while providing market feedback for strategic course correction, as needed.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
Regional Integration and Planning
  • Accurately assess regional market trends, competitive landscape, and market share – including impact on MISTRAS’ business.
  • Regional Responsibility: Canada
  • Work closely with Sales & Operations teams to develop & implement targeted individual & regional sales plans.
  • Align regional sales activities, targets, and pricing strategies with Corporate and Operations’ initiatives.
Developing A Strong Team
  • Develop and align ongoing sales skills, products, and services training programs within the organization.
  • Monitor the sales process from lead development, through quoting, closing, and sales verification.
  • Successfully manage, mentor, and develop regional sales team to achieve/ exceed targeted sales objectives.
Strategic Selling and Innovation Focus
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with executive-level client influencers.
  • Identify new applications/opportunities for MISTRAS’ technology portfolio.
  • Lead cross-functional selling opportunities as an integrated team across the Group’s various business units.
  • Present innovative ideas and breakthrough approaches (including ongoing R&D activities) to MISTRAS’ customers to provide an “advanced look” at MISTRAS’ growing capabilities.
Communicate Internally and Externally
  • Communicate successes at local and regional client sites throughout the client’s organization.
  • Represent MISTRAS Group at trade shows, professional meetings, and industry forums.
  • Manage CRM accountability for the region.
Minimum Requirements
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals while managing a de-centralized sales team.
  • Minimum of 15 years of combined experience in technical and/or sales supervision/ management roles.
  • Experience in forming and implementing strategic business and/or sales plans.
  • Working knowledge of NDT/NDE services & products.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong, senior-level relationships within customer organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Business discipline, or minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • 40-60% travel (out of office) is anticipated.
