Excluded position: Grid 9, $77,408.00 - $103,211.00 annually, depending on experience and qualifications as per NLC's Excluded Salary Scale. An excellent benefit package is offered, including extended health and dental benefits, and medical travel. Annual vacation is pro-rated and front-loaded, based on 210 hours/FTE, as well as time off paid for the period between Christmas and New Year's Day. Additional leaves are available for medical appointments, family responsibility and illness. The weekly schedule is Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week. Enrolment in the College Pension Plan is mandatory, and contributions are matched by the employer.
Description
Working under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Manager will work strategically and operationally to support key maintenance and service programs and processes at Northern Lights College. The manager position focuses on serving our people our staff and our students and uses the tools through open and effective communication with colleagues and other stakeholders, to ensure a positive workplace culture. As the Manager of Facilities, you will be available to assist within the department when required, and to engage with all facility teams within the region. Travel to our surrounding campuses to meet with our facilities team should be on a consistent and scheduled basis.
In this role, you will recruit, supervise, plan, co-ordinate and direct a team of employees and all maintenance and servicing programs for buildings, grounds, equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications
The technical requirements for this job would typically be acquired through 2 - 3 years of supervisory and management experience in a relevant role, preferably in a large unionized environment ** note that an equivalent combination of education and experiences may be considered.
Professional qualifications (Journeyman tickets, etc.) would be considered an asset, but not required of this position. Experience in project management would be an asset. A valid driver's license (minimum class 5) is mandatory.
