Salary
$43.80 - 49.70/hr, depending on experience and qualifications, as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay period.
Description
ARCH 200: Introduction to Archaeology and World Prehistory will be offered during the Fall 2023 semester (September 5 to December 14, 2023) via synchronous online delivery.
This sessional instructor position is comprised of 45 hours of lecture time and 45 hours of preparation time along with an additional 6 hours preparation time for distance delivery for a total contract of up to 96 hours.

The University Arts and Sciences programming at Northern Lights College offers a wide variety of courses for students interested in various one and two year credentials, or for transferring into university programs elsewhere. ARCH 200 is a required course in a two year Archaeological Diploma program and an elective course for other program areas.

Required
Qualifications:

• Commitment to working effectively as a team member.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum of a Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred

• The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education.
• North American based post-baccalaureate education.
• PhD in Archaeology or Anthropology.
• Demonstrable success in teaching at the post-secondary level
• Experience managing archaeology field projects.
