Job Description
Term of App't: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week

Reporting to: Associate Vice President, Educational Services
Salary/Benefits
Excluded position: Grid 14, $103,214.00 - $137,618.00 annually, depending on experience and qualifications as per NLC's Excluded Salary Scale. An excellent benefit package is offered, including extended health and dental benefits. Annual vacation is pro-rated and front-loaded, based on 210 hours/FTE, as well as time off paid for the period between Christmas and New Year's Day. Enrolment in the College Pension Plan is mandatory for those in this role, with the standard contributions matched by the employer.
Description
Reporting to the Associate VP of Educational Services the Director of Student Recruitment & Admissions is responsible for developing, planning, organizing, coordinating, managing, and carrying out the services and procedures of domestic student recruitment and admissions.
The primary function of this role is to lead the design, implementation, and management of domestic student recruitment and admissions, while overseeing the day-to-day operations. The Director will be expected to develop and implement the strategies identified to meet the goals of Northern Lights College as it relates to domestic student enrolment; developing the annual activities for recruitment (for both on and off campus events); and working collaboratively with our Indigenous Education department to coordinate activities for recruitment within our First Nations communities.
It is the responsibility of the Director to manage the processing of all admissions for the College and liaises with the Director of International Education for international admissions to the ensure that the appropriate policies, procedures, and practices have been applied. They will work in coordination with college leadership to develop and achieve service standards for admissions operation, ensuring compliance with NLC policies, and will coordinate key stakeholders for policy development.
  • Travel will be required within the geographical area, with potential travel occurring in Western Canada.
Qualifications
  • Intermediate skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, current domestic Admissions practices in public post-secondary institution.
  • Managerial and budgetary experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability, in corporate/core competencies including customer service, communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management, and accountability.
  • The ability to manage a primary budget of $1,000,000.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Student Information Systems and student record practices (preference will be given to those who have this experience with Colleague).
  • Will demonstrate strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in the public post-secondary environment., or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelors' degree in a relevant field of study (e.g.., Business Administration, Marketing, etc.), with preference given to those who hold a Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Current, valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of campus programs, policies, and procedures would be considered an asset.
