THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF BECOMING PERMANENT* _*Are you interested in an opportunity to put your managerial skills to practice?*_* _*Are you a people person who likes to help, coach, mentor, guide*_,_ *and walk alongside others?*_The Chilliwack Society for Community Living has exciting opportunities for employment, providing support to individuals with diverse abilities to support them to be an integral part of the community.*Why you should work for CSCL:** Recipient of the Canadian Non-Profit Employer of Choice Award (neoc.ca) since 2017!* Opportunity to positively impact the community and contribute to a “Centre of Excellence”* Culture of appreciation, recognition and inclusiveness* Training, job development, and professional growth opportunities* Comprehensive benefits and Municipal Pension Plan (MPP), when eligible* Competitive wages*What you’ll do as the Manager:** Split your time between two service areas to oversee the day to day operations of one Staff Supported Home (working with employees) and oversee a case load in our Shared Living Service (working with Caregivers).* Mentor and oversee a team of employees working in the Staff Supported Home Service and mentor and oversee a caseload of contracted caregivers in the Shared Living Service.* Provide leadership, vision and direction to service teams.* Promote excellence and innovation in service provision and ensure that standards, guidelines and policies of CSCL are maintained* Contribute to evaluation and decision making as part of the “Combined Manager/Leadership” team* Supervise expenditures within an existing budget allowance and make recommendations* Ensure that pertinent documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner (in both services)* Perform assessments and evaluations of performance and goals as required* Ensure effective communication with all parties involved (e.g.: individuals, staff, caregivers, families, funders) while maintaining liaison with other community organizations* Create agendas and participate in and chair various types of meetings* Ensure that all Health & Safety conditions are met within the program’s sites*Qualifications that will help your application:** Must have post-secondary education in a related field (e.g.: Social Services Diploma, Community Support Worker Certificate, J.I. Management Certificate)* Must have at least 5 years of experience working in the community living sector.* Must have experience in a managerial/supervisory role.* Experience in supporting individuals with complex behavioural health needs and understand trauma-informed approach.* Proven experience with the principlies of Positive Behaviour Supports and Behavioural Health.* Must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to present professionally* Proven ability to provide Leadership, Mediation and Collaboration to a team* Must have a thorough understanding of the home-sharing model and working with contracted caregivers.* Must have the ability to build and maintain relationships with families, caregivers, clients and other community groups.* Experience in recruitment, conducting interviews and SAFE home studies is an asset.* Valid First Aid Certificate, physical health and a Class 5 Driver’s License are also required.
