Job Description

The VSB Welcomes Applications for:


On-Call Supervision Aides (East Side Vancouver Schools)


Salary: $26.04 per hour, plus 16% in lieu of benefits


Hours: 2.5 per day from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (September to June)


On-Call Employees are expected to be available to work Monday to Friday with a minimum requirement of three days per week and accept shifts on short notice

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising students during recess and lunch, indoors and outdoors, in all kinds of weather. You will ensure student safety and that students comply with school rules. You will be required to intervene in potentially unsafe play situations and facilitate in conflict resolutions between students . You may also be required to supervise students between recess and lunch, ensuring appropriate behaviour and completion of teacher assigned work.


This job requires you to walk and stand for the duration of the shift, which is mostly outdoors. You will be required to circulate the school grounds, focus on your surroundings and remain alert at all times.

Qualifications:


  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Experience working with children in large groups
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to speak languages common to ESL students is an asset
