Salary
$62,212.00 - $77,536.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement (annual increments up to a maximum salary of $99,968.00). Vacation entitlement annually is 240 hours (pro-rated from hire date for current year), to be utilized for summer months (July and August), and paid time off between December 25 - January 1st each year. We offer an extremely competitive extended health and dental benefits plan. Enrolment in the College Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time staff.
Description
NLC's University Arts and Sciences program requires a regular full-time Psychology instructor to teach post-secondary, first-year, and second-year Psychology courses. Psychology courses are offered as essential electives in a variety of NLC Arts, Human Service and Social Science programs.
Qualifications
Required:

• Commitment to student motivation and success; and the
• Masters' Degree in Psychology, or a closely related discipline
• Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• Experience or knowledge of teaching Psychology for Elementary Teachers would be considered an asset.
• Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students, at an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Curriculum development and course design experience considered an asset.
• Experience teaching in an additional area such as Social Work, Education, Counselling Psychology, Human Development or Health Sciences considered an asset.
• D. in Psychology;
• Knowledge of relevant trends and issues in post-secondary education in British Columbia.
• The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program, or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
