University Arts & Sciences Instructor - Math (23:107A)

Salary
$34,170.50 - $38,768.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement (annual increments up to a maximum salary of $49,984.00). Vacation entitlement annually is 120 hours (pro-rated from hire date for current year), to be utilized for non-instructional period. Paid time off between Christmas and New Year's, and an excellent benefits package is offered. Enrolment in the College Pension Plan is optional, with mandatory contributions matched by the employer.
Description
NLC's University Arts and Sciences program requires a regular part-time Math instructor to teach post-secondary, first-year, and second-year Math courses in Calculus and statistics.
Required
Qualifications:

• Commitment to student motivation and success; and the
• Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy.
• Masters' Degree in Math, or a closely related discipline
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
• Experience teaching in an additional area such as Physics, Chemistry or Computer Science would be considered an asset.
• Ph.D. in Math;
• Experience or knowledge of teaching Math for Elementary Teachers would be considered an asset.
• The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program, or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
