A Day in the Life: What You’ll Do

The DAM Librarian plays a vital role in developing the organizational structure that governs the content lifecycle and archival of digital assets, and the orchestration of content delivery across Global Brand at lululemon. This role will work closely with the Systems and Tools Manager, Global Brand stakeholders, and cross-functional partners across Global Brand to implement workflows, metadata strategies, and system integrations across multiple asset and information platforms, and report on their usage. The DAM Librarian will partner with our content-creating departments to advise, train and support team members who interact with metadata as a part of the content creation or content management process as well as advise on matters of metadata policy and proper uses of metadata models as well as work closely with IT, product management, vendor partners, and key Systems and Tools users to implement metadata models, processes, and systems and be able to strongly lead participating users in metadata workflows. The DAM Librarian will also help with general user support, troubleshooting, site analysis, and marketing technology system audits across all regions including Global, North America, EMEA, APAC, and China.

  • Develop and maintain a common taxonomy and metadata frameworks for Global Brand digital content systems
  • Provide technical support for Systems and Tools information users and stakeholders and troubleshoot issues
  • Support Systems and Tools Manager to define and maintain business requirements and a backlog for product roadmaps
  • Develop training material to help train new and existing users
  • Develop, establish, and manage the quality control standards for record data, including usage rights, licensing, and copyrights audit existing metadata as needed to adhere to updated standards
  • Outline regional regulations and develop a checklist for DAM users to follow
  • Establish a regular reporting dashboard on DAM usage and performance to measure KPIs
  • Outline and apply the frameworks to catalog assets using taxonomy design and how to follow metadata standards, adhere to language and formatting guidelines, use controlled vocabularies through the content lifecycle from ingestion to archiving
  • Set up automation rules for Systems and Tools information systems users
  • Develop the archival strategy, the workflow to identify assets about to expire and the appropriate actions standards, and the operating model to preserve and facilitate appropriate access to historical assets


Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of professional DAM experience in a high-volume environment
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Interest/experience in UI/UX design
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and rights management
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail
  • Degree in Library Science or Information Studies desirable, or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Strong knowledge of DAM systems, metadata standards, databases, rights, and regional regulatory management
