Excellent written, oral and presentation communications skills.

Demonstrated ability to adjust priorities, take initiative, set goals, manage time wisely, and make quick effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Expert skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.)

Working knowledge of appreciative inquiry, and experience applying it in a workplace environment

Experience developing and providing information services and learning support resources to a broad community of users

Knowledge of or experience cataloguing file-based digital collections

Physically and digitally manage the audiovisual archives, including cleanup.

Two (2) years’ comparable and relevant experience

Knowledge of and interest in the media industry

Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada programming, particularly French Services regional programming

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English

Experience with learning management systems.

Knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in academic libraries and information literacy education.

Minimum 1 year experience in an academic library setting providing instruction and reference services.

Experience teaching adults at various states of literacy development and academic experience is an asset.

Provide reference consultation and general information services in person, over the phone, chat, and email.

Provide course-integrated instruction in information literacy and research.

Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of librarianship

Excellent public speaking and instructional skills

Considerable knowledge of methods involved in providing library services and ability to apply the same

Working knowledge of the objectives, organization, procedures, services and resources of the library

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to plan, organize and carry out assigned duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.

May participate on task teams and special projects. May prepare reports as requested by management.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with the staff and public.

Critical knowledge of electronic information resources and services, Symphony, Internet and CD-Rom Databases.

Office automation skills are essential.

Knowledge of Word and Excel is an asset.

Effective oral and written skills in English are required.

Oversees the process to enhance and maintain catalogue records and holdings

Creates original catalogue records, particularly formaterials in vertical files

Adjusts cutter numbers and/or assigns call numbers within the Brian Deer in-house classification system

Identifies authors and subjects with problem authority selection and makes recommendations to relevant specialists for authority adjustments

Collects and compiles monthly statistics related to all technical services activities

Must have excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and organizational skills;

An undergraduate or graduate degree in public policy, education policy or political science (would be an asset)

Experience in mapping and GIS (would be an asset)

Familiarity with open access, metadata management, digital preservation and copyright as that pertains to academic publishing;

Coordinate operational and project work with team members, including support staff, ensuring service experience and quality standards are defined and achieved.

Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of content held in Library repositories and digital curation platforms

Maintain established operations for media streaming services

Experience in providing educational instructional support; experience with Moodle.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in methodologies for data collection and analyses.

Analyzes and assigns job responsibilities in accordance with current library needs and changing academic library environment and trends.

Manages the Library space at University of Niagara Falls, ensuring a smooth operation for high profile spaces.

Negotiates copyright agreements and licenses and ensure copyright compliance and education.

Ten years of library experience, preferably in an academic library; minimum three years of supervisory experience.
