Position Title: Intermediate Operations Accountant

Department: Finance

Reporting Manager: Director of Finance

Location: Etobicoke

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for the review of posted payments, maintaining supporting documentation and resolving payment related inquires. Further, the role will support the month-end close process by providing reconciliations and journal entries for all payment clearing accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process discharges of customer accounts in loan management system
• Reconcile customer refunds transactions and process necessary journal entries
• Reconcile payment clearing accounts daily
• Provide a monthly summary of transactions and make journal entries where required
• Other duties as assigned
• ·Provide support and guidance to the junior accountants
• Reconcile and review customer accounts for processing of refunds
• Respond to inquiries and requests of Customer Services Department and process related transactions if necessary
• Reconcile and classify bank transactions daily
• ·Provide back up for the junior accountants

Key QUALIFICATION

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to work independently and a part of a team
• Accounting degree or enrollment in CPA program preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferable in high volume processing environment
