Position: Staff Accountant (Entry Level)
We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our sister company, 'Deskk Accounting Services Corporation.' Deskk operates within the same office as Andrews & Co.Deskk specializes in providing outsourced accounting support to our small to medium sixed client.Services provided include but are not limited to, full cycle accounting, month and year end closes, cash flow management, financial reporting, and Controller to CFO advisory services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Development and maintenance of client relationships
- Utilize various software tools such as Excel, Word, CaseWare, QuickBooks, SAGE, SAP, etc.
- Entering of revenue and monitoring of accounts receivable.
- Carry out tasks in a timely manner by the required deadlines.
- Entering and submission of payroll, including year-end T4’s.
- Assisting and training clients with various bookkeeping and accounting issues.
- Prepare financial reports for manager review.
- Preparation and submission GST/HST, WSIB and other similar tax returns
- Assisting with monthly and quarterly financial closing process such as preparing bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Entering of expenses and monitoring of accounts payable.
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:
- Ability to work within a team environment.There are lots of tasks that is dependent on different team members.
- Proficiency in English (French language skills considered an asset).
- Ability to follow instructions and learn from mistakes.
- Experience dealing with the public and/or customer support is highly valued.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Organized, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree from a recognized business program is considered and asset but not necessary.
- 1 to 3 years of accounting experience is considered an asset.
