1. Background:

Amigo Foods DRC is a leading beverage manufacturing company specializing in the production of water, soft drinks, and juice. With six production lines, a fleet of trucks, a water purification plant, and an in-house carbon dioxide production plant, Amigo Foods DRC operates on a large scale and requires a competent and experienced accountant to handle its financial operations effectively.

2. Position Overview:

Amigo Foods DRC is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the organization. The accountant will work closely with the Financial Controller and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective utilization of financial resources.

3. Responsibilities:

The accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

a. Financial Record-Keeping:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

- Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and recorded in accordance with company policies and accounting principles.

- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents on a regular basis.

b. Financial Reporting:

- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.

- Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.

c. Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.

- Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis reports.

- Identify areas of potential cost savings or revenue generation opportunities.

d. Compliance and Audit:

- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and accounting standards.

- Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits.

- Provide necessary financial data and documentation during audit processes.

e. Payroll and Taxation:

- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and employee benefit plans.

- Prepare and submit tax returns and other required financial filings in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

4. Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications and skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA) are a plus.

- Proven experience working as an Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG industry.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.

- Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management systems.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

5. Reporting and Supervision:

The accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager and will work closely with other members of the finance team.
