We are looking for a motivated and talented Senior Accountant to help us in running our day-to-day finance operations efficiently. The candidate will report directly to the Accounting Manager. We are a rapidly growing eCommerce company and are looking for people who are interested in using their experience to help us serve our customers.


Key Responsibilities


  • Recording various employee expenses into Sage, updating expenses reports
  • Assist on month end activities (supplier and payment processor reconciliations, accrual and prepaid workbooks, etc.)
  • Preparing and filing Canadian Sales tax returns
  • Managing US sales tax returns with third party advisors
  • Assist with month end financial statement preparation and annual external audits
  • Monthly financial reporting by different business segments
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Monitor and review AP aging reports to stay on top of company obligations
  • Prepare lead sheets on a monthly basis to match with trial balance
  • Review and prepare supplier and vendor reconciliations. Create summary approvals for directors
  • Other ad hoc projects

Requirements


  • Self-starter and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and positive attitude is a must
  • Working towards professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset
  • Completion of post-secondary Accounting Diploma/Degree
  • Passion for continuous learning
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in a deadline driven, fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to high level knowledge of Excel and computer skills
