Senior Accountant Jobs

We are seeking a highly motivated and process-driven Senior Accountant to join our accounting team.

Duties & Responsibilities

·Efficiently prepare/review year-end engagements (compilations) and T2 tax returns for clients

·Prepare complex balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports

·Prepare/review personal tax returns

·In charge of new client onboarding independently

·Develop effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members

·Manage the accounting team, providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure that all team members are performing at their best.

·Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities

·Oversee big clients’ payroll process, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable laws and regulations .

·Monitor compliance with payroll legislation. Research payroll and tax-related problems and inquiries

·Payroll experience with Dayforce is an asset

Skills/Experience

·University accounting degree

·CPA designation preferred.

·Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

·5+ years of experience within accounting firm.

·Experience working with accounting and tax software, CaseWare, Profile, QBO, QBD and Karbon.

·Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word and Excel), Adobe Acrobat and Cloud computing/VPN in general

·Ability to prioritize workloads and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

·Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills
