Senior Accountant Jobs

Job Summary:

As Urbacity’s Senior Accountant you take ownership of and apply principles of accounting to record and analyze financial information, oversee job costs, respond to accounting, costing and financial issues, resolve problems, and provide/review financial statement disclosure for all construction and design activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordination of all accounting functions and programs including analyses, reconciliations, sales and withholding tax filings and payments, payroll, and employee benefits.
• Coordination and interface with construction management software provider (Buildertrend).
• Analysis and review of construction status with Construction Manager and participation in job and cost analyses.
• Oversight and maintenance of construction management system, including setting up jobs, budgets, job costs, cost codes, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and construction progress reports.
• Compilation and analysis of financial information and preparation of monthly and quarterly financials on a timely basis.
• Management and overview of process for proper coding of construction invoices (payment applications) and lien releases for contractor and vendor invoices.
• Supervision of two or more staff persons.

Job Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability and willingness to work well with others as well as to train and manage staff.
• Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks with experience in Buildertrend (BT) or similar construction software or otherwise a keen willingness to learn BT quickly.
• University degree or professional accounting designation with a minimum of 3 years’ construction or cost accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Expertise in analysis and interpretation of accounting data and ability to perform quantitative analysis.
