Are you passionate about adult education? Do you enjoy working with adults with diverse needs? If so, you will enjoy this challenging and rewarding position working with faculty and students in our Transitions to Employment program, Apprenticeship Preparation Program, and Day Home Provider Program. We are looking for an Instructional Assistant with special education training and experience, as a key role will be in the our Integrated Training Programs

• Day Home Provider prepares language learners with the skills to open a Day Home or work as a childcare educator. We are looking for an experienced and energetic professional to support these three programs at our downtown campus.
• Apprenticeship Preparation prepares students for entry into over 50 designated trades.
• Transitions to Employment prepares students with mild developmental disabilities for the workplace through the successful completion of a combination of classroom and workplace training. We are also looking for someone for our Wetaskiwin Campus.

Reporting to the Chair of Integrated Training, the Instructional Assistants are responsible for supporting faculty members and working with the students in the classroom. For our Transition to Employment Program, we are looking for an Instructional Assistant with special education training and experience.

What You Bring

• Experience establishing connections with community organizations and indigenous learners.
• Experience with adults with developmental disabilities considered an asset.
• Training in Special Education considered an asset.
• Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.

• Patience, compassion, and empathy.
• Familiarity with other educational technologies such as Blackboard Ultra/Collaborate, H5P, and Voice Thread.
• Interest in working in an educational setting with students, especially those with mild developmental disabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with MS Office such as PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
• Technical familiarity or ability to learn new Learning Management Programs such as Moodle.

SALARY $48,403-$62,910 annually or $1,862-$2,420 biweekly, reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. We are looking for 1 permanent position at our downtown Edmonton Campus, and 1 term position until May 30, 2024 at our Wataskiwin campus. Both positions have immediate access to our great benefit programs, and the permanent position has access to our pension program.
