Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, and working closely with the Management team, the Human Resources Associate functions as a member of the exempt team and is accountable for providing close and confidential support to the Manager of Human Resources in all administrative and technical elements at the library, where knowledge of Recruitment and Selection, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Development, Training and Development, Labour Relations, and Wellness, Health & Safety are required.
This person works closely with the Manager of Human Resources, the Chief Librarian and other management staff to achieve business goals by ensuring alignment and effective human resources management. The Human Resources Associate builds strong relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees throughout the library, the City of Richmond, the union and other stakeholders.
External relationships include CUPE 718-05 executive and national representatives, City staff, external vendors, contractors, library customers, volunteers, and community groups.

The successful candidate is a proven business team member who possesses:
- Previous experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years job-related experience in Human Resources.
- A post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources.

Compensation:
Salary range of %60,380 to $75,475 per annum plus comprehensive benefits package.
