Dermalogica is currently looking for an HR Specialist to join our Canadian team!. In this role you will be an ambassador to our Dermalogica culture and values. The role will provide customer centric HR support to our outgoing team. Working closely with the HR Director this role has an operational and service approach. You will support many HR activities, programs and processes that attract and retain our employees. The HR Specialist is solutions oriented and will have a passion for building Dermalogica as a great place to work.
Some of the areas you will focus in are:
Employee Engagement:
- Support the HR Director with organizing learning and engagement events
- Be an enthusiastic participant to all cultural activities that inspire engagement and employee satisfaction.
- Support and participate in various activities such as task forces, townhalls and other company events
- Provide proactive ideas that compliment areas of focus from our engagement survey results
- Assisting in preparation the annual holiday party
Recruitment & Offboarding:
- Participate in the interview process as necessary.
- Initiates the onboarding process by sending new hires all necessary forms and ensuring their proper completion prior to an employee’s start date
- Manages and facilitates the employee induction presentation
- Facilitates the recruitment process: from job posting creation to posting on various sites, screen resumes, phone interviews, schedule interviews for hiring manager, background and reference checks
- Assist managers and employees to coordinate the offboarding process including conducting exit interviews
Maintaining & Analyzing Data:
- Coordinates electronic delivery of mandatory compliance training modules
- Maintain and update our intuitive HRIS system, bambooHR
- Supports the annual Performance Management processes through collecting, tracking and reporting on completed year end performance reviews
- Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information, recommending courses of action.
- Generates standardized or customized reports on a routine or ad hoc based basis such as employee headcount, vacation eligibility & employee turnover reports using the HRIS system, or Excel.
- Process payroll on a biweekly basis for a team of 90 employees; works with managers & finance to manage all payroll documentation including commission, expense payouts, awards etc.
Policy & Employee Relations:
- Comply with changes in Provincial Legislation that affects HR practices in the organization and suggest amendments to HR policies and procedures to align to such changes
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Communicating and living the Unilever Code of Business Principles and Code Policies to employees
- Collaborate with providing research for policies, training and other human resource issues.
- With guidance from the HR Director ensure the employee handbook is up to date and reflective of current organizational policies
Vendor and Administration Support:
- Set up and prepare invoices and expense forms for payment
- Acts as a liaison between external vendors such as gym, benefits, disability management, benefits.
- Monthly corporate reporting
What we need from you:
- Ability to speak up and provide ideas and suggestions
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 knowledge, along with some ATS and HRIS experience; superior Excel experience is an asset
- A post secondary degree/diploma or comparable experience; certificate in Human Resources is an asset
- Ability to be discreet with integrity of the company values andpolicies.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening and presentation)
- Strong organizational and time management skills that allow you to successfully multi-task priorities
- Highly detail-oriented, and able to prioritize to ensure deadlines are met
- Strong analytical skills and ability to provide insight to data
- Positive “can do” attitude towards creative ideas
- Enthusiastic customer centric approach
- At least 1-2 year of experience in an employee facing HR position..
